Scaling New Heights: Celebrating Success and Recap of Ranking Achievements at Fortune Fencing

As the season ends, it’s time to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our fencers at Fortune Fencing. Our fencers have demonstrated exceptional skill, resilience, and sportsmanship this year, earning them top ratings in their respective categories.

Leading the pack with an A23 rating are Nicholas Jin, Kyran Lin, Mark N Segal, and Daryl J Taylor. Born in 2006 and 2007, Nicholas and Kyran are our youngest A-rated fencers, showcasing impressive skill and maturity on the piste. Mark and Daryl, both seasoned fencers, continue to prove that age is no barrier to excellence in this sport. Daryl Taylor has achieved impressive success as a member of the Veteran World Championship teams. He won gold in the team event in 2019 and 2018 and currently holds the No.2 ranking in the veteran 70 Epee category.

Omar Emara, a freshman epee fencer at the Air Force Academy, has showcased his talent in fencing with a top 16 finish in Division I men’s epee at the April 2022 NAC.

Chloe Daniel, a senior epee fencer at the University of Pennsylvania, achieved Second-team All-Ivy honors in the 2022-23 season, surpassing 150 career bout wins and winning 60 bouts in a single season for the first time.

Danny Comer, a senior epee fencer at Johns Hopkins University, has had a successful fencing career with notable performances, including an impressive 39-10 record in the 2022-23 season. He has consistently contributed to the team’s success throughout college, accumulating 125 wins and 107 losses.

David Jensen, with an A19 rating, and Darius H Kim, Laurance S Lingvay, and Brianna Kim Mun, all with B23 ratings, have also had a successful season. Darius and Brianna, born in 2005 and 2007, are among our rising stars.

Elizabeth Hsiu, Camille Barbara, Lanlan Huang, and Michele Chimienti have all had a commendable season with a C rating. Elizabeth and Lanlan, our youngest C-rated fencers, have shown great promise for the future.

Mark Kruger and Olivia Daniel, with D22 and D19 ratings, respectively, have significantly improved this season. Their progress is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Finally, our E-rated fencers, Thomas Ferriere earned his first ranking this year, Joshua Ferriere, Jacquie D Parker, and Katelyn Xu have shown great potential this season. Their performances have been marked by determination and a strong will to improve.

Even with their busy coaching schedule, our coaches, Elsayed Emara and Zeyad Elashry, consistently rank well in the USA. Their dedication and commitment to their craft are unwavering, allowing them to excel and remain at the top of their game.

Congratulations to all our fencers at Fortune Fencing for their remarkable achievements this season! We want to recognize and applaud our fencers’ tremendous progress, outstanding performances, and dedication, including those who didn’t receive rankings but excelled in competitions and showed significant improvement. We also extend our congratulations to our beginner class members, who are the future stars of our club. Keep up the excellent work! #FortuneFencing #FencingAchievements #ProudOfOurFencers
