Allison spent the whole NAC fencing up. On Friday she reached the top 64 in Cadet Elite Women’s Epee and finished 58th of 113. On Saturday she placed 8th of 25 teams in Cadet Team Women’s Epee on a mixed-club team.

On Monday she was back in her own age group and finished 14th of 114 in Y14 Women’s Epee, winning three direct elimination bouts before a 13-15 loss in the table of 16.

Also on Monday in Y14 Men’s Epee, Matthew Hwang, Bryan Lin, and Lucas Parra all won bouts to reach the round of 64, and Matteo Taverna reached the round of 128.

Weekends like this start in our training room in Monrovia, where beginners and competitive fencers share the same floor and families come in from Arcadia, Pasadena, Duarte, Sierra Madre, and Azusa.

Next up for Fortune is the AFM Super Regional in Santa Clara, October 23 to 25.
