Fortune Fencing made the trip from Monrovia down to UC San Diego for BladeRunner ROC/RJC on September 19 and 20, 2026.

Fortune fencers posted eleven results across Division IA and Junior épée, a busy weekend for families who train with us in Monrovia and drive in from Arcadia, Pasadena, Duarte, Sierra Madre, and Azusa.

On Saturday in Division IA Women’s Épée, Allison Yip finished 10th of 69. In the large Division IA Men’s Épée field of 98 fencers, Lucas Parra placed 49th, Bryan Lin 59th, Laurance Lingvay 81st, and David Yi 91st.

Sunday’s Junior events kept the strips busy. Matthew Hwang took 12th of 83 in Junior Men’s Épée, with Lucas Parra 29th, Matteo Taverna 50th, Ethan Escala 80th, and Ryan Lew 81st. Allison Yip added a 19th of 52 in Junior Women’s Épée.

No new ratings came out of this weekend, but the work shows. These were deep fields with real competition, and our fencers showed up for all of it.
