Fencing Community Joins Forces with Health Initiative for Vaccination Clinic
USA Fencing has partnered with the healthcare provider McMulskey Health Force to promote public health within the sporting community by offering a convenient on-site flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinic. This clinic is a remarkable feature of the upcoming FORTUNE FENCING SYC/RJCC & Y8 event, scheduled for March 22-24, 2024.
The fencing tournament organizers have shown an inspiring commitment to the sport and the well-being of its participants and their families. Recognizing the importance of easy access to vaccines, they have ensured that the current season’s flu shots and the latest COVID-19 booster are available alongside informative resources for those with questions or concerns about vaccinations.
The clinic is a beacon of community care, extending an open invitation to coaches, athletes, family members, officials, and anyone associated with the fencing community to receive their vaccinations at no cost. However, they have advised participants to bring their insurance cards for the administration of the vaccines.
Operating hours for the clinic are from 10 AM to 4 PM on each day of the competition, strategically located in the hallway next to the Equipment Check area to ensure high visibility and ease of access.
This initiative underscores the importance of health in sports and serves as a model for integrating medical services into community events. It reflects a proactive approach to health care, making preventive measures like vaccinations integral to sports gatherings.
With the support of POINT CONTROL, the well-recognized equipment provider for fencing, this health initiative stands out as a prime example of collaboration between sports and healthcare providers, aiming for a healthier, safer sporting environment.
As the FORTUNE FENCING SYC/RJCC & Y8 event draws near, it is expected that this vaccination clinic will see a positive response, encouraging a broader conversation about the role of sports organizations in public health advocacy.
